Matthew Santillan

Matthew Santillan is a Law Clerk at Krogh & Decker, LLP and a J.D. candidate at UC Davis School of Law, where he serves on the Trial Practice Honors Board. A committed advocate-in-training, he has represented the law school in mock-trial and negotiation competitions, honing his courtroom and client-focused skills.
Before law school, Matthew built a strong technical foundation as a Software Engineer at Revecorp, Inc. There, he single-handedly developed and launched the VinPro mobile app—now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play—and designed and deployed the websites maqs.io and revecorp.com. He remains actively engaged with emerging technologies, coding in Swift and other cutting-edge languages to stay at the forefront of software innovation.
Matthew's legal experience is equally robust. As a Legal Research Intern with the ACLU of Northern California, he played a key role in a landmark investigation under California's Racial Justice Act, analyzing capital-case records for systemic racial disparities and working closely with leading civil-rights attorneys in Sacramento.
Bridging his dual passions, Matthew is authoring Lost in Translation: What Lawyers Don't Understand About Artificial Intelligence, a forthcoming publication that demystifies AI for legal professionals and offers guidance on regulating this rapidly evolving field.
