
Luis A. Oliva

Luis Oliva is a law clerk at Krogh & Decker LLP, where he assists attorneys on corporate, real estate, and employment matters. His work includes conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, reviewing contracts, and supporting litigation preparation.
Luis is currently pursuing his J.D. at the University of California, Davis School of Law, where he is a member of the UC Davis Law Review (Vol. 59) and the Business Law Society. He is also completing the Tax Law Certificate program. In addition to his coursework, Luis serves as a research assistant to Professor Eric Fish, contributing to an empirical study on misdemeanor bench trials, and is writing a Law Review Note on the taxation of cryptocurrency staking rewards.
Prior to joining Krogh & Decker, Luis gained experience as a summer law clerk at Lay Law Office LLC in Maryland, where he worked on civil rights, criminal defense, and family law matters.
Luis earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in the Naval ROTC program, serving as Public Affairs Officer and competing in the Cornell Military Excellence Competition.
Fluent in Spanish, Luis brings a bilingual perspective to his work with clients. Outside of law, he is an avid music collector, war history enthusiast, cinephile, and enjoys spending time with his dog.
