Ryan Fillmore
Ryan graduated with distinction, earning a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. Ranking in the top 5% of his class, he achieved noteworthy recognition, including being elected the Outstanding Graduating Senior in the Evening Division and receiving the prestigious Order of the Coif. His academic prowess extends to numerous Dean's Honor Roll appearances and a nomination as the Evening Division representative to "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges - 2004."
Before joining Krogh and Decker, LLP, Ryan focused on mental health law as a Hearing Officer. He has conducted numerous hearings across multiple counties, ensuring compliance with the California Welfare and Institutions Code. By determining patients' legal status based on the risk they posed to themselves or others or due to grave disability, Ryan safeguarded both patient rights and public safety.
For nearly a decade, Ryan served as the full-time Vice President of Operations and General Counsel for Fillmore Farms, Inc., where he played a pivotal role in building and running a multi-million-dollar, internationally recognized integrated organic walnut farming and processing operation. His experience as General Counsel and interim CEO provides a unique perspective on legal and business operations covering various matters.
Before his time at Fillmore Farms and demonstrating a commitment to public service, Ryan previously served as a Staff Attorney at the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law. In this role, he supervised a regional program office, assigned cases to panel attorneys, and contributed to developing training programs. His responsibilities included overseeing representation in parole revocation proceedings, representing clients in administrative law hearings, and managing the program's transition due to California's Criminal Justice Realignment legislation.
Earlier in Ryan's career, he served as a Panel Attorney for the California Parole Advocacy Program, representing clients in parole revocation proceedings and administrative law hearings. During law school, he also gained valuable experience as an Extern to Justice Ronald B. Robie at the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, where he conducted legal research and analysis.
Before his legal career, his professional journey began in the technology sector with a BS in Computer Science. Ryan was a Senior Programmer/Analyst at Adventist Health System/West. His responsibilities included software and web application development, IT support, and managing projects, users, and programmers.
Ryan is the proud father of three children and enjoys many activities in the great outdoors, such as hiking, skiing, motorcycle riding, gold prospecting, and taking the road less traveled.
