Marie C. Avery

Attorney

Marie joined Krogh & Decker in August of 2022 as a law clerk shortly after taking the California Bar. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Fresno and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2016. During this time, her inclination toward advocacy would be formed as she would find herself volunteering with several political campaigns in the Central Valley with a focus on increasing voter registration and turn out in traditionally underserved neighborhoods.

In December of 2021, Marie graduated from McGeorge School of Law with a concentration in Water and Environmental law. While at McGeorge, Marie was a Primary Editor for the McGeorge Law Review, served as the treasurer for the Environmental Law Society, and was a member of the Junior Barristers Club.

Prior to attending law school, Marie worked in employment law as a legal assistant, further solidifying her penchant for client advocacy. It was during this time that she would continue to seek higher education in order to make a greater impact for the clients she assisted. After being offered a full-tuition, merit-based scholarship to attend McGeorge, Marie took a larger class load than her peers and graduated a semester early, eager to become an advocate for clients seeking legal representation.

In her free time, Marie enjoys chasing after her two children, playing trivia with her friends, painting, and catching up on the latest true crime podcast.
